Perfect Denim Jacket

I just snagged this denim jacket. It is perfection. Perfect wash, slim fit, and they've eliminated those bulkifying lower pockets.

Kicky Skirt

Big sale at Kohl's right now. This skirt is only $26 - marked down from $44. It's hard to see in this tiny picture, but the bottom of the skirt flounces out in swingy pleats.

A great fall and winter staple.

Little Black Dress

So, as you've probably noticed by now, I like to be comfortable. My sister is all about high heels and strapless foundation garments. I'd pretty much be happy running around every day in yoga pants. And sometimes I do.

This outfit is a dressier version on that theme. Cute. Comfortable. Aaah... That's the stuff.

The foundation of our comfy/cute outfit? This dress from Athleta. Athleta sells higher-end athletic wear and is part of the same company as The Gap and Banana Republic. I have a few things from there, including my most favorite running / yoga pants ever. But I'll blog about them another time. For now, I'll just tell you that clothing from Athleta can take some serious punishment and still look like new.
For autumn layering, I love it with this cardigan from Old Navy (on sale for $22.50!). I love the deeper crewneck. And the slim fit. And the glorious color!
To dress it up a bit more, I'd add some silver jewelry from Stella & Dot.

How great is this necklace ? It's 36" long, so it would also look beautiful doubled. Two of them would be even better - one doubled and one long. (Okay, now I'm just getting greedy!)
Since the necklace is so delicate, I'd punch it up a little with these flirty hoops.

And add these stack rings.

I'm actually going to a Stella & Dot party tonight. I'm pretty dorkily excited about it. I absolutely love almost everything they do!

Ballet-Inspired

I'm loving this alo wrap cardigan. The color is delicious and I'm really digging the detail around the neckline and the ruched three-quarter-length sleeves. alo, which stands for "air, land, ocean," uses recycled and "minimal-impact materials" to make its soft, durable, beautifully-designed clothing.

Put it together with a white cami and this skirt and you're set for wherever the day takes you.

Ann Taylor Loft Sale

Huge sale at Ann Taylor Loft!

It's mostly summery stuff, but there are some great fall finds mixed in. Ornate Zebra Skirt, anyone? I'd pair it with a white blouse or a black turtleneck. My sister would probably pair it with something more colorful - like a silk blouse in fuchsia or kiwi.

Lots of great stuff!

Stripe-y Goodness

I am seriously digging this sweater. And it happens to be on sale right now for $23.99 at Lands' End Canvas*. I'd be buying it right now... except I went ahead and bought it a few months ago. Throw it on with a pair of khakis, pull your hair back, put on a little pair of earrings, and you're all set!

This cardigan is also out-of-this-world good. I own it in two colors (Gray Heather and Turquoise Sea). It's light-weight enough for summer evenings and fall layering. It's well-proportioned. And it's on sale for $20.99. In fact, I think I might need one in another color. What do you think? Cherry or Soft Fern?

* Haven't heard of Lands' End Canvas? They're a higher-end (but not terribly expensive) off-shoot of Lands' End. The clothing is very classic american, very well-made, and very reasonably-priced. You'll be hearing more about it, I'm sure, as it's my newest obsession. They're having a huge sale right now. Check it out!

(Oh, and, for the record, the shoes on our header are Kate Spade "Gwen." Much more expensive than anything else we'll show you. Promise. Waaaaaay outta my price range, but if I could imagine my dream pair of shoes, this would be it!)
